Welcome to Roads of Crete

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of Roads of Crete motorcycle tours (guided or self-guided) and motorcycle rental services. By booking and participating in our tours or rentals, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

These Terms form an integral part of the travel contract between the customer and Roads of Crete (hereinafter “ROC”), acting as a travel organizer, whether the booking is made directly or through an agent. Agents, representatives, guides, and staff represent ROC but are not parties to this contract and are not personally liable for any failure to provide services described in our materials or related to the contract.

Bookings

Motorcycles can be rented for a minimum period of one day (morning to evening), or you may book a place on one of our tours (guided or self-guided).
The number of motorcycles and tour participants is limited. Bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Photos & Videos

All photos and videos taken by Roads of Crete during tours are the property of Roads of Crete. We reserve the right to use this material for marketing and promotional purposes, including images in which participants may be recognizable, without any claim for compensation.

This right may be withdrawn only if the customer submits a written request before the start of the tour stating that they do not wish to appear in photos or videos.

Applicable Law

The contractual relationship between the customer and Roads of Crete is governed by Greek law.
Place of performance is the registered office of Roads of Crete.
Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively by the courts of Heraklion, Crete.

Acceptance of Terms

“I understand that I will be required to sign a Liability Release and Waiver before participating in any tour or renting a motorcycle from Roads of Crete. Without this document, participation is not possible.

I confirm that I have read and accepted all Roads of Crete terms. I understand that motorcycle riding involves risks. Traffic conditions, road quality, weather, and the actions of other participants may increase these risks. I willingly accept these risks.

I confirm that I am an experienced, responsible, and physically fit rider, holding a valid motorcycle license. As a passenger, I also understand the inherent risks.

I agree and understand that Roads of Crete, its owners, operators, staff, and agents are not responsible for my safety and cannot be held liable for any accident, injury, death, or damage to myself, my property, or my heirs.”

GUIDED TOURS – TERMS & CONDITIONS
Tour Booking

A €500 deposit per person is required at the time of booking.
The remaining balance must be paid 60 days before the tour start date.

If full payment is not received by the deadline, Roads of Crete reserves the right to cancel the booking and apply cancellation fees as outlined below.

Tour places are limited and confirmed in order of booking.

Tour Prices

Tour prices listed on the website depend on the selected motorcycle and room type (single or double).

Riders using a Roads of Crete motorcycle pay the rider tour price.

Passengers on guided tours pay the passenger tour price and share a double room.

Passengers on self-guided tours do not pay extra if sharing the same double room.

Guided Tour Price Includes

• Accommodation in single or double rooms
  (single room supplement applies)
• Breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and snacks
• Fuel
• Entrance fees to museums and archaeological sites
• Transportation by other means when required
• English-speaking tour guide
• Support van for luggage and passengers
  (included for groups of at least 4 motorcycles / 6 participants; otherwise available on request at extra cost)
• Third-party liability insurance
• Airport transfers (optional)
• Daily rider briefings
• All legal taxes

Guided Tour Price Does NOT Include

• Flights
• Dinners
• Drinks
• Personal expenses
• Tips
• Traffic fines
• Any item not explicitly listed as included

Cancellation Fees

If Roads of Crete cancels a tour for internal reasons, this will occur at least 30 days before the tour start date. All payments made will be fully refunded.

If the customer cancels:

No-show:
If the customer does not appear on departure day, 100% of the tour price may be retained.

Force Majeure

Force majeure includes events beyond our control such as war, strikes, technical transport issues, airport closures, terrorism, natural disasters, fires, floods, theft, or severe weather conditions.

In such cases, no refunds or compensation can be claimed. We strongly recommend purchasing travel cancellation insurance.
The EU consumer right of withdrawal does not apply to this product.

Insurance (Guided Tours)

Third-party liability insurance included by law

Comprehensive vehicle insurance with €3,000 deductible

Theft deductible: €3,000

Third-party coverage up to €1,300,000 per accident

Passenger is fully insured

Optional Full Insurance:
€25 per day
Reduces deductible to €700
Theft deductible remains €3,000

Insurance is void if:

Riding under alcohol or drugs

Riding off-road, on dirt roads, forest tracks, or race tracks

Tour Rules

Failure to follow tour rules or staff instructions may result in immediate removal from the tour without refund.

Riding skills are assessed at the start. If the selected motorcycle is deemed unsuitable:

A smaller bike may be offered, or

Participation may be terminated

Key Rules

Stay on the road and keep visual contact with the guide

Obey traffic laws and speed limits

No alcohol during riding hours

Follow the daily schedule

Do not ride after the motorcycle is parked for the night

Respect the guide’s decisions

Wear proper riding gear at all times (helmet, gloves, jacket)

Group Size

Groups consist of 3–6 motorcycles (3–12 participants).
A support van is available depending on group size or on request at extra cost.

Itinerary Changes

Routes, hotels, and stops may change due to weather or seasonal conditions.

SELF-GUIDED TOURS – TERMS & CONDITIONS
Price Includes

• 4-star hotels (or equivalent) with breakfast
• Selected motorcycle
• GPS with routes
• Route and restaurant advice
• Third-party insurance
• 24/7 phone support
• BMW roadside assistance (14/7)
• Airport transfer on day one
• Passengers ride free if sharing a double room.

Price Does NOT Include

• Full insurance (optional)
• Fuel
• Riding gear
• Entrance fees
• Parking fees
• Meals and drinks
• Personal expenses
• Travel & medical insurance
• Flights

Age & License Requirements

• Up to 900cc: minimum age 25, license held for 2+ years
• Over 900cc: minimum age 30, license held for 5+ years
• EU Category A license or International Driving Permit required
• Skill assessment applies. Roads of Crete may downgrade the motorcycle or cancel the rental.

• Theft deductible always €3,000
• Insurance void under alcohol, drugs, or off-road riding.

Damage Deposit

A €700 or €3,000 deposit is pre-authorized on a credit card before pickup.
For rentals over 15 days, the amount is charged.

Refunds depend on your bank and may take up to 15 days.
